The Cyphers is a production by What it is Ent. It is meant as an avenue for up and coming talent in the Hudson Valley area to express themselves artistically via, Rap, singing, poetry, instrumentation ect. Each concert has set house performers as well as a sign in sheet for any new talent to perform 2 pieces and promote their personal projects. The Cypher is also an avenue for education on history, current events, and the culture of Hip-Hop via the invited guests and pre-selected performers. Vince Tampio began studying trumpet 13 years ago and has experience performing, arranging, and writing all types of music including Classical, Jazz, Latin, Rock, and Funk. He attended summer band camps at Eastman and SUNY Fredonia and participated in the Infinity Performing Arts Program. He earned high marks on level VI pieces at NYSSMA solo festivals in Classical and Jazz styles for trumpet. At SUNY New Paltz, Vince is currently pursuing a dual music degree in Jazz Trumpet Performance and Theory & Composition. He records and performs with various groups throughout the Hudson Valley area, and has experience playing bass for various bands. | ||

12 Grapes is proud to present the debut performance of this newly-formed 9-piece band. The band is powered by original arrangements and a truly remarkable lineup of professional musicians. With a voice that has been likened to Joni Mitchell, Rickie Lee Jones, the late Eva Cassidy, and even Shawn Colvin-meets-Ani DiFranco, Marji Zintz is a solo vocalist/arranger/acoustic guitarist who has performed and recorded as a soloist and in duet settings in the jazz and folk genres with various bassists (i.e., Mike Richmond, Jay Anderson, Steve Roane, Josef Pelletier) and in larger ensembles. Marji has also worked in collaboration with improvisational vocalists in a mostly a capella recording and performance project called Sister Sound and currently is also currently one third of the trio GaiaWolf, performing original "music for the planet." | ||

Kairos: A Consort of Singers will present J. S. Bach's Easter Cantata No. 4, "Christ lag in Todesbanden" (Christ lay in death's bonds) under the direction of Dr. Edward Lundergan. The concert will also feature Bach's exuberant choral work, "Sanctus in D Major", BWV 238; a movement from the Easter portion of Messiah by George Frideric Handel, "Since by Man Came Death"; and the Gigue from Bach's "Cello Suite in G Major" featuring cellist Susan Seligman. The cantata and other works are accompanied by chamber orchestra and will be performed as part of a choral evensong service. The performance is part of an ongoing Bach Cantata series presented by Kairos at Holy Cross Monastery and is the second in the 2010 Bach Cantata Series, now in its fifth year.
