His second studio recording, entitled "Free", has sold more than 6,000 copies. with Steve Chizmadia
Singer-Songwriter
12 Grapes Music & Wine Bar
12 North Division Street
Peekskill, NY   See Map
Due to the snow, Johnny Feds is canceled tonight, but we're pleased to feature singer/songwriter Steve Chizmadia. Come in out of the cold, for a songwriter who's sure to warm your heart!

With each song, Steve brings us to places across the country in his own endearing, Americana style. His songs have received some acclaim over the years. Steve is a 2003 Kerrville New Folk finalist and in 2005 his song "This Old Town" received honorable mention from the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival. He has showcased at Northeast Regional Folk Alliance in New York, and "It Is What It Is" was #12 on the folk D.J. charts in 2007.

Whether he's singing pull-at-your-heartstrings tunes like "It's Always Texas" or economic-comic-relief songs like "The Wall Street Fat Cat Tax Payer Bailout Blues", Steve Chizmadia is a songwriter not to be missed.

CHRISTINE LAVIN; and BUSKIN & BATTEAU
Singer-Songwriter, Acoustic, and Comedic
Towne Crier Cafe
130 Route 22
Pawling, NY   See Map
This was such a great combination last fall, we wanted to give you another opportuntity to see this great show! CHRISTINE LAVIN’s smart and funny take on contemporary life and foible make for a one-of-a-kind concert. As a songwriter, she brings the shrewd insight & wit of a humor columnist together with a novelist's eye for evocative details. While the title of her 19th solo album may sound like a disclaimer ~ I Don’t Make This Stuff Up... I Just Make It Rhyme ~ it is clear she’s an expert on our days and our ways. :|: After a thirteen-year hiatus to 1) be dads, and 2) take a nap, BUSKIN & BATTEAU have just put the finishing touches on their long-anticipated new CD and are back on the road again! In their new album and in their performances, they continue to offer their audiences "an irresistible amalgam of melodic, sensual pop, folkie grit and killer wit." -Washington Post.

A tribute to Jeff Beck
with Neil Alexander & NAIL
Rock (progressive), Jazz, and Rock (modern). Funk, Electronica
The Wherehouse
119 Liberty St
Newburgh, NY   See Map
Close your eyes and hear sharp and elegantly electrifying gut guitar sounds. Open your eyes and behold keyboardist Neil Alexander and his amazing ensemble NAIL focusing their considerable skills to honor guitar legend Jeff Beck. Jeff’s style has always held fascination for the Hudson Valley based keyboardist well known for his ability to emulate the electric guitar. “His range of sounds – with just a guitar & amp – staggers the imagination,” says Neil. Armed with skills established in his 10 years of experience in Pink Floyd tribute band The Machine and his current status as a member of the John McLaughlin tribute band Mahavishnu Project, Neil is confident they can pull off a “guitarless” tribute – to a guitarist. A “tribute show” is new for NAIL whose shows are traditionally original music spiced with a few pieces by other artists. The evening will include songs from classic discs Blow by Blow, Wired, and Guitar Shop, as well as “stylistically appropriate” tunes and NAIL originals.

Andy Aledort has performed with scores of rock legends... Dickey Betts, the Allman's and the late, great, Stevie Ray Vaughn. Famous for meticulously capturing, note-for-note, the licks and tone of artists like Clapton and Hendrix, Andy Aledort is often tapped for high-profile appearances. When a band needs a player who can recreate the guitar work of Stevie Ray, Buddy Guy, Albert King, Freddie King or Johnny Winter, Andy delivers in a big way. Aledort was once sought after by Aerosmith's Joe Perry for an emergency Blues lesson, and has performed as a member of the Dickey Betts and Great Southern band for the last five years, displaying masterful slide guitar work. Aledort also participated in a series of Jimi Hendrix Tribute concerts, including a three-city tour of the west coast with veteran bluesman Buddy Guy.

Dinner Reservations highly recommended. This is gonna be one hot night.

The Bereznak Brothers Band is a dynamic, genre-bridging group fronted by twin brother singer-songwriter-guitarists Michael & David Bereznak, who have literally been living for music since they were six years old. Seamlessly fusing together elements of '80s & '90s rock, heartland rock and current pop/rock, they flawlessly use their signature brand of vocal harmonies, tasteful guitar, and pop song writing sensibility to create a musical tour de force with timeless songs that gracefully touch upon the issues of growing up in a small town, family strength, friendship, love, and loneliness.

Bill Kelly (pictured here) -- aka "Mr. Americana" -- is songwriter and all-around great guy. On his CD, "Bread on the Waters", Bill "takes a long hard pull on the bottle of life, with weather-beaten songs of messed-up love, longing, and redemption." One of our favorites is "Seraphima", a tune that's been applauded by critics. Another of his songs, "She's Single Again", was featured in NBC's TV show, Ed.

Abby Payne lives and performs in NYC. She has a distinctive, beautiful voice and a soft, soothing touch on the keyboard. Her wonderfully creative original songs will move you. Our favorite is "Green". When Abby sings, all your troubles melt away. Her influences include Tori Amos, Fiona Apple, Cat Stevens, Led Zeppelin, Radiohead, Bjork, David Bowie, Billie Holiday, The Beatles, The White Stripes, Joni Mitchell...on and on.

Join us for dinner or a glass of wine on the couches as we welcome Bill and Abby back to our 12 Grapes stage.
