This will feature longtime drummer Nadav Zelniker & bass virtuoso James Cammack (Ahamd Jamal) on both electric & acoustic bass, and guest appearances by local musical luminaries Premik Russel Tubbs and the wonderful vocalist Judi Silvano. Sympatico — Kevin Johnson, Bill Ross, Peter Blum, David Budd, Nathan Brenowitz — wields hand drums, djun-djuns (African tom-toms), percussion, bells, gongs, voices, you name it, both to rouse the earth spirits and sense the planets and stars. Bill Cochran opens, a virtuoso of the French horn who uses electronics to expand the instrument into a virtual orchestra, with waves of sparkling melodies. Then the two will blend their sounds, primordial rhythm with orchestral brass through effects. Sympatico will close with a set of flat-out rhythmica that will call to all lively feet. Come salute the real end of the year and beginning of the next, and help Family of Woodstock take care of those with nowhere else to turn. Hear free audio streams here | ||
