This is not Hindustani Classical music but rather a light evening of Holiday/Seasonal Christian and Hindu Hymns, Bajans, and songs.
The Hindustani Slide guitar has a variety of sympathetic strings and is capable of a wide variety of expressive tones.
As we begin to celebrate the Holiday season, we invite you to join us for a very special event.
The Rhinebeck Choral Club will present its 2009 Holiday Concert, which will include a variety of seasonal, sacred, Hanukkah, spiritual, and novelty selections, including familiar favorites such as “The Christmas Waltz”, “Light One Candle”, and “Baby It’s Cold Outside”. Our guest artist Ryan Doughty, a classically trained lyric tenor, will sing arrangements of “I’ll Be Home for Christmas “and” The Little Drummer Boy. In addition to the concert, we will be holding a Holiday Bake Sale before and after the concert. Special holiday treats and goodies will be available. General admission is $10.00 for adults and $8.00 for students. 
"Country flavored folk steeped in Texas and Louisiana with New York grit." That about sums up Steve Chizmadia, a songwriter from Long Island who has the Long Horns of Texas in his soul. Each song tells a story, and brings us to places across the country in his own endearing, Americana style. His songs have received some acclaim over the years. Steve is a 2003 Kerrville New Folk finalist and in 2005 his song "This Old Town" received honorable mention from the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival. He has showcased at Northeast Regional Folk Alliance in New York, and "It Is What It Is" was #12 on the folk D.J. charts in 2007.

Two popular Hudson Valley performers team up on a side project delivering covers you'll want to sing along with! From artists like The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, Cyndi Lauper, Neil Young, and a few surprises.
Neil Alexander & Nail presents their Annual Winter Solstice Celebration, at the Turning Point Restaurant on Thursday December 17th at 8:00 PM. Admission is $15.
The winter solstice was the most important date on ancient calendars. Prehistoric monuments like Stonehenge and Newgrange in Ireland indicate the day with remarkable precision. Neil Alexander & Nail will honor the day with their usual mix of burning grooves, soaring soundscapes and red-hot jazz. This will feature longtime drummer Nadav Zelniker & bass virtuoso James Cammack (Ahamd Jamal) on both electric & acoustic bass, and guest appearances by local musical luminaries Premik Russel Tubbs and the wonderful vocalist Judi Silvano. The Turning Point Restaurant, located at 468 Piermont Avenue in the tiny Hudson River town of Piermont NY, is a venue well known for bringing World Class artists to an intimate local setting. In addition, we will be collecting canned food donations for the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley.
David Kraai doles out two sets of the finest country rock this side of 1973 with the help of Saddle Tramp, Sean Powell! There are always great drink specials afoot and a solid posse out on the dance floor at Snugs... so, mosey out to the hootenany y’all!
