Profits benefit Fisher House, a home-away-from-home for wounded soldiers. Johnson Ford has signed on a sponsor. They are donating a brand new Mustang to an active-duty soldier. Families are invited to go the Johnson Ford and put their soldier’s name in a hat. Drawing is in December. The car will be on display the night of our concert, on the front lawn of St John’s Episcopal Church, 207 Albany Ave., Kingston.
Oh, and don’t forget the flag ceremony. It’s gonna be great. The VFW is sending a color guard and so are the Girl Scouts. We’re hoping to hear from the Boy Scouts!

| My primary instrument is my voice, and my guitar embellishes, accompanies, and decorates it. My sound and style are my own. Exposure to music and vocal styles of all types, ranging from standards to jazz to folk/traditional to blues, and to the music of Great Britain, the Appalachian Mountains of Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, and North Carolina, have influenced my sound and led me to describe my music as "eclectic acoustic." I have opened for Christine Lavin and Dave Cousins and performed in Showcases and the Open Mic Finals at the Towne Crier Cafe in Pawling, NY, and appeared in venues in the Hudson Valley and Southwestern CT. I perform a good mix of songs, including my own compositions, covers, and traditional music. I like to tell the stories of the traditional songs I sing and might focus on the song's provenance, themes, imagery, history, depiction of characters, etc. Listeners tell me that they enjoy learning about this traditional music. |

 Pal Shazar was born, raised and punished in Los Angeles, California. Her musical career began at a time when creative souls roamed wildly on the east coast. She began writing songs in the late 70’s, inspired by artists Patti Smith, Television, and Iggy Pop, all of whom she illustrated for the local rock fanzine Back Door Man while working nights as a ticket girl at the famed Troubadour nightclub.
Together with partner Andrew Chinich she created the band Slow Children in the early eighties and began playing clubs in L.A. A highly cerebral duo, their music consisted of guitar driven pop laced with intellectual lyrics. Slow Children soon caught the eye of producer Stephen Hague (Pet Shop Boys, Pretenders) and musician Jules Shear who together produced a demo for the group.  Wee little funky space with cool art on the walls, lots of comfy sofas and seats, tables with composition books at the ready for you to write and/or scribble in, and coffees, teas, and stuff like that. I indulged and had a chocolate chai, and it was goo-ood (that's "good" pronounced with two syllables, a la Andy Griffith).
I've never performed here before, but I am really looking forward to it. I think you'll like it. And, I'm performing on "lucky" Friday, the 13th! Cool!!

 Gil Parris is one of very few artists to have nationally released albums in over four different genres: R&B, smooth jazz, traditional jazz and blues. Gil is currently slated at # 1 on Music Choice -- America's top cable radio channel -- with "Duck Walk," a blues-funk duet with Randy Brecker from his new album Strength. Gil toured as lead guitarist for Blood, Sweat & Tears, and has played with pop & jazz legends such as David Sanborn, Bob James, Will Lee, Eric Alexander, Bob Malach, David Clayton-Thomas, Toni Braxton, Chuck Rainey to name but a few. Gil performs at many prestigious NYC clubs like BB King's.

The Westchester Swing Band is back again... 12 Grapes is normally closed on Mondays, but on the 2nd Monday of every month we open at 6:00 for dinner and feature this incredible musical experience that has to be seen (and heard) to be believed. First-time patrons are blown away by the sound and songs of this 18-piece orchestra. Classic Swing music, wonderful vocals, full horn section and world-class musicians.

"Country flavored folk steeped in Texas and Louisiana with New York grit." That about sums up Steve Chizmadia, a songwriter from Long Island who has the Long Horns of Texas in his soul. Each song tells a story, and brings us to places across the country in his own endearing, Americana style. His songs have received some acclaim over the years. Steve is a 2003 Kerrville New Folk finalist and in 2005 his song "This Old Town" received honorable mention from the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival. He has showcased at Northeast Regional Folk Alliance in New York, and "It Is What It Is" was #12 on the folk D.J. charts in 2007.
We always look forward to the diversity, surprise and talent that accompanies one of Petey's Open Mics. Our Open Mics are mostly Acoustic, but most styles of music are welcome. We invite all talented artists to come take the stage and enjoy one of the most talked about music venues in Westchester. Awarded the "Best New Live Music Spot" by Westchester Magazine, 12 Grapes is pleased to have the talented guitarist, band leader and singer/songwriter Petey Hop host its Open Mic Nights.
