I love the Rosendale Cafe; they present world-class musicians and it's one of the few places I can go where I can order most anything they have on their menu! What this is. Lifted from their site: "The Rosendale Cafe has been bringing notable performances to the area for 16 years. This more humble opportunity for local performances started with a very successful run of the Community Music Night, and the series has run on and off since fall 2007. "The showcase has been a performance opportunity for both newly-established artists, and those that were outside the musical style of the Cafe's usual weekend bookings." Marji's Website

Sunday 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm | Dave Murphy Acoustic, Singer-Songwriter | Taste Budd's Chocolate and Coffee Cafe 40 West Market Street Red Hook, NY See Map |
Murphy can really pull it off in a live performance and his songs resonate with honesty, intelligence, vulnerability and a sense of hard earned wisdom, yet never come across as heavy-handed. He takes you on a lyrical pilgrimage through the American soul, whether he’s telling the story of an aging Viet Nam era war widow in “Chesapeake” or sharing his own deeply personal journey with addiction in “the Bottom”. But just when you think things may be getting a bit too serious Murphy belts out “My Garden State” his tongue and cheek ode to New Jersey. Murphy strives to peel away the layers and go deeper in search of that place where the truth lives, exposing it, often from a unique and unexpected perspective.
