In the past quarter-century, the Mississippi-bred, Nashville-based singer/songwriter has built a deeply personal body of work that's won him a reputation for clear-eyed insight and plainspoken eloquence. In the process, he's evolved from the wide-eyed young troubadour of his early classics -- Alive On Arrival and Jackrabbit Slim -- to the mature, bittersweet outlook of his more recent work, which surveys darker territory with hard-won empathy and deeply-ingrained rock 'n' roll soul. Sunday 2:00 pm to 3:45 pm | Big Picture Music with Bar Scott, Peter Schoenberger Acoustic | Creekside Cultural Center 124 Penn Street Lenhartsville, PA See Map |
We are very excited about this show. We've been invited by the Creekside Cultural Center to do an educational/musical afternoon for their community. Many of you have seen my shows when we have shown some of my husband Peter's spectacular bird photography while I play piano and sing. It's an inspiring experience. The birds are so beautiful and there's something about their fragility and the opportunity to just look at them while music plays. The presentation on October 18th will include a concert by me, Peter's photos and discussion/Q&A with Peter about his beloved birds. It's a particularly wonderful place to present this program again because nearby Hawk Mountain hosts one of the finest areas in the country to observe hawks. Tickets are only $5 each, $3 for members, and we'll be in an old barn - perfect for this kind of program. Hope you can join us.
