For a number of years now vocalist Audrey Silver has been impressing audiences all over New York City as a warm and sensitive stylist. A four-month engagement at the Mansfield Hotel's M Bar readied her for last year's five-month run at Club Finley's vocals, show expression coming from a full life of observation, compassion, sorrow and joy... Her guitar work emerges as uncommonly intricate, harmonically compelling, and rhythmically powerful. Contra Bass Guitarist, Daniel Pagdon, discovered his instrument at the age of 11, and hasn't put it down since. Both are self-taught in their craft. Between them they have over three decades of playing music for live audiences in concert halls, small venues, and festivals.

WOODSTOCK FRINGE presents "The Songs of Joe Veillette and Jerry Mitnick.” Joe and Jerry offer two different and highly complementary approaches to songwriting. Woodstock, NY   See Map
After an hilarious sing along with anyone and everyone that was at the Farmer's Market on June 17th, I'm looking forward to singing again with any of you who want to join us. This time, though, we're adding food to the mix. Bring a picnic dinner at 5. We'll sing at 5:45 or so and quit an hour later. It's super corny, very fun, and you can be a geek as much as you like at this monthly gathering. No singing ability required! But you'll be surprised: when everyone is singing, those who "can't" blend right in.

Bring some eats for yourself, a few bucks to help with rent and expenses, your friends, and a name tag this time so that we can actually call each other by our first names.

See you then, Bar

PS Please park in the Woodstock Physical therapy parking lot next door....

"Max Said Yes -- The Woodstock Story" is written by Abigail and Joseph Lipner, with illustrations by Barbara Mendes. The book, designed for children, tells the story of the upstate New York farmer who said "yes" to the three-day festival in August of 1969 that made history.

The book is richly illustrated and, through those drawings and words, brings children inside the birth of the Woodstock Nation.

An Evening of World Beat, Jazz Fusion and Funk with Charlie Lagond & Friends

Back by popular demand for the third year, arranger, composer, educator and world-class woodwind player Charlie Lagond draws from his personal rolodex to invite some of the best professional musicians in New York, and young, up-and-coming talent to join him for an evening of popular contemporary songs arranged in a rhythmic fusion of world beat, jazz-fusion and funk.

Lagond describes the evening as: “A rare opportunity to get close and personal with musicians who worked alongside some of the greatest artists of our time and made this music what it was-- and what it is today.”

40th anniversary of Woodstock!

Richie Havens is gifted with one of the most recognizable voices in popular folk music. His fiery, poignant, always soulful singing style has remained unique and ageless since he first emerged from the Greenwich Village folk scene in the early 1960s. It's a voice that has inspired and electrified audiences from the Woodstock Music & Arts Fair in 1969 to the Clinton Presidential Inauguration in 1993, and coming full circle with the 30th Woodstock Anniversary celebration in 1999, "A Day In The Garden." Havens is as vibrant and dynamic today as he was in the Woodstock documentary, in his familiar improvisational performance of "Freedom" (based on the old spiritual, "Motherless Child"). His concerts continue to inspire as well as entertain, and it is an honor, as always, to present him at the Towne Crier Cafe.

Ramblin’ Jack Elliott will play the Colony Cafe on Friday, August 21, at 8 p.m. Tickets are $21 (which includes a $1 service fee) and are available at the Woodstock Music Shop, located just two doors down from the Colony on Rock City Road. Call the shop at (845) 679-3224 for more information.

Brooklyn-born Ramblin’ Jack Elliott is widely recognized as one of the most influential artists in folk music. At a young age – and against his parents’ wishes – he taught himself how to play guitar and eventually met, and moved in with, Woody Guthrie. Guthrie provided guidance, giving Elliott the boost he needed to advance his career. He has recorded over a dozen albums and his “South Coast” in 1995 earned him his first Grammy award. Over the years, Elliott has worked with Phil Ochs, Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger, Jerry Garcia and The Grateful Dead, Derroll Adams, plus many more. And members of the Red Hot Chili Peppers sang backup on his 2006 album, “I Stand Alone.”
