Folk/Traditional
Byrdcliffe Theater
Upper Byrdcliffe Road
Woodstock, NY   See Map
WOODSTOCK FRINGE presents "The Songs of Joe Veillette and Jerry Mitnick.” Joe and Jerry offer two different and highly complementary approaches to songwriting. Joe is drawn to the theme of love (or lack of love), while Jerry is not. The common thread binding the songs of these Brooklyn-born songwriters is their desire to capture different people and moments in a way that a listener can actually feel. Area music lovers are well acquainted with Veillette and Mitnick from their work with the Phantoms, Blind Mice and the JV Squad and will appreciate this rare opportunity to hear their original songs. $25 adults, $20 students & seniors, Festival Pass $75. For a number of years now vocalist Audrey Silver has been impressing audiences all over New York City as a warm and sensitive stylist. A four-month engagement at the Mansfield Hotel's M Bar readied her for last year's five-month run at Club Finley's vocals, show expression coming from a full life of observation, compassion, sorrow and joy... Her guitar work emerges as uncommonly intricate, harmonically compelling, and rhythmically powerful. Contra Bass Guitarist, Daniel Pagdon, discovered his instrument at the age of 11, and hasn't put it down since. Both are self-taught in their craft. Between them they have over three decades of playing music for live audiences in concert halls, small venues, and festivals.
