Lisa Landry
Comedic
Bodles Opera House
39 Main Street
Chester, NY   See Map
Lisa Landry is one of the most fearless and innovative women working in stand-up comedy. Her fresh take on the traditional topics of family, love and modern life earned her the distinction of starring in her own half hour special "Comedy Central Presents Lisa Landry." And a nationwide audience vote catapulted her special to third place in Comedy Central's 2008 Annual Standup Showdown. Landry is the first and only woman to ever place in the top three.

That same year, Landry produced her first comedy album, "Put your Keys in the Keybowl" -which debuted at Number 31 on itunes. "Put your Keys in the Keybowl" was ultimately selected by both itunes' comedy editors and the editors of Punchline Magazine as one of the Top 10 Best Comedy CD's of 2008.

In January 2009- her overwhelmingly-received special placed sixth out of the one hundred and ten Comedy Central Presents vying in the showdown contest.

The Louisiana native is featured on the "Brett Butler Presents: The Southern Belles of Comedy" DVD- slated for release and tour this spring. She's used her sassy mouth for commentary on CMT's "20 Greatest Redneck Moments"-chosen a Top Pick by TV Guide- and for E!'s "Forbes Top 100 Celebrities". Guest appearances include Fox's "Mike and Juliet in the Morning Show", the "Bob and Tom Show", Fox's "Redeye" and the outrageous "Hollyweird" segment on MSNBC's "Scarborough Country".

An extremely versatile performer- Landry is one of a handful of comedians selected by TBS for their "Bitcoms" series. She's also recorded a wide-range of voice over spots for radio (Nextel, Cingular), industrials (Yahoo, Deutche Bank) and television (the Travel Channel, A&E), co-starred on "Law and Order: SVU" and had the longest run ever- four years- as a contributing writer to US Weekly's satirical "Fashion Police".

One of the most sought-after female comedians in the business, her hectic tour schedule keeps her constantly on-stage headlining at clubs, theaters and colleges throughout the country. Lisa Landry's easy going style- along with her sharp wit, unique perspective and well-crafted material- makes her a true audience favorite.

Jenny Collins brings her textured voice and innovative songwriting to the band’s distinctly mature sound. Rich and clear as honey, her vocals add depth and character to songs she’s written and delightfully balanced harmony to duets. Zachary Collins has played the guitar since he was 6 and wrote his first song at the age of 11. His influence on the band’s signature songs sets the scene for the melancholy and euphoric temperament. James White plays percussion with an inherent resonance as he travels easily between traditional drum kit to bongos and simple percussives.

Saugerties, NY   See Map
Paul Maloney has worked as a bass player with The Saturday Night Bluegrass Band, The Pontiacs, Big Joe Fitz, Dr. Romo’s Cajun Swing Orchestra, The Jim Barbaro Band and Cleoma’s Ghost. Recently he has been in a transition, from bass player to singer/ songwriter. Songwriting has become Paul’s passion and the next logical step in this creative process. His original songs fall into the genre of contemporary folk music.

Kimberly is a singer-songwriter well known in this area for her warm and powerful voice. Her music is often quiet, reflective and sometimes makes one feel a bit of a tug on the heart. They're back together again, but only for a precious few, not-to-be-missed concerts. Amy Fradon and Leslie Ritter's luscious vocal harmonies as session singers for Orleans, Rick Danko, John Sebastian and Dr. John led to their twelve-year collaboration as a duo. As singer-songwriters they recorded six albums and reached their commercial apex nationally with their rendition of the Yes classic "Your Move," which topped the Billboard charts and aired as a video on VH1. Joining them for this special reunion performance will be Grammy-nominated producer and bassist Scott Petito and guitarist and vocalist Helen Avakian.

Join us at this wonderful new cafe/bookstore and acoustic music venue (formerly the Peterson House) located in the Bearsville Theater Complex.

Anthony DaCosta

"Everything Red Molly sings is delivered with tick-tight arrangements, crystalline vocals, and caramel harmonies. But what is most striking is the ardor they bring to everything they do, whether snuggling into the sweet parochialism of an old spiritual, or the gritty pathos of a Gillian Welch tune. They come on less like stars strutting for their minions than pals sharing their favorite songs. In the friendly world of the coffeehouse, that remains a starmaking quality."
-Scott Alarik, The Boston Globe

Acoustic, Irish (traditional)

Cavanaugh & Kavanaugh perform original songs and tunes on guitars, mandolin, fiddle, mountain dulcimer, banjo and more. Much of the traditional music Deb and Dick perform is in the Irish and Southern Old Time tradition. They also perform original songs and tunes. Life partners, as well as musical partners, who coincidentally share the same last name, they enjoy performing together and sharing their stories and songs with an audience. A subtle blend of ethnicity, humor and more, they bring their varied experiences to life on the stage. Caffe Lena has described them as follows: “this … duo, who just happen to share the same last name in pronunciation if not spelling, have been a long time part of the Capital District music scene…talented multi-instrumentalists (banjo, guitar, piano, mandolin, dulcimer, limber jack) who share a commitment to music as a way of life.”

Singer/Songwriter Showcase
with Sheri Miller, Abby Payne, Diane Cricchio
Singer-Songwriter
12 Grapes Music & Wine Bar
12 North Division Street
Peekskill, NY   See Map
Three solo performers take their turn on stage in 30-minute sets, twice around.

Sheri Miller (pictured here on her CD "Mantra") has been described as "hypnotic bluesy American soul meets classic British melodic-pop." Her vocals and guitar work are as original as her songwriting. She's been heard on 107.1 The Peak. Come listen to songs from her CDs up close and personal.

Abby Payne has a distinctive, beautiful voice and a soft, soothing touch on the keyboard. Her wonderfully creative original songs will move you. Our favorite is "Green". Her influences include Tori Amos, Fiona Apple, David Bowie, Billie Holiday, The Beatles, Joni Mitchell... and on and on.

Diane Cricchio is new to our Singer/Songwriter stage. Better known to 12 Grapes fans as "Duchess Di" of Duchess Di & the Distractions, Diane actually started her singing career writing and singing acoustic songs. Tonight, we look forward to seeing the softer side of Diane.
