A rare, acoustic performance by The subdudes.

In 1987, four musicians got together for what they envisioned would be a one-time performance at Tipitina’s in New Orleans. It was a night of mostly acoustic music – sparse instrumentation with a strong emphasis on songwriting and vocal harmonies. The show far exceeded expectations, and on that March night the subdudes were born.

Nearly 10 years later, after five well-received albums and several years of hard touring, the subdudes called it quits.

The Subdudes draw most of their inspiration from the sounds of their native New Orleans, blending blues, gospel, funk, and R&B with their own harmony vocals; their sound is also notable for the band's substitution of a tambourine player for a drummer.

Muddy Cup Coffee House
58 Main Street
New Paltz, NY   See Map
Tonight, we'll be featuring -- O.K., let's face it, even though it's a coffeehouse, we're NOT playing anything where you NEED a cup of coffee just to stay awake. We're claiming some floor space, rolling in the amps and drum kit, plugging in, and making sure there's a whole lotta shakin' goin' on -- so don't say we didn't give you advance notice, Ishmael. Furthermore . . . you will have a good time.

An all-ages show, nice for those who prefer a non-alcoholic environment. NO COVER

And of course, we raise our collective coffee cups to toast and give a special thank-you to the New Paltz Muddy Cup for their continuing support of our music.

We are pleased to have 3TonJack return to 12 Grapes. This band provides a quality performance of Rock classics that span the decades. What makes them special is that, in addition to great vocals and hi-energy musicianship, the band adds extraordinary sound-effects that faithfully reproduce the original recordings we all know and love. In the Classic Rock category, 3TJ has become a favorite of the 12 Grapes staff. And this team hears good music 5 nights a week, every week of the year! If they say 3TJ = FUN, count on it being true. Come see for yourself.
