In the mid-'70s, Steve Forbert left his truck-driving days in the small town of Meridian, Mississippi, to become a folk hero in the giant metropolis of New York City. Armed with just a guitar and a harmonica, he managed to cause a stir in NYC amid the flash and clatter of the emerging New Wave.
