"Ty Adams, talented Woodstock playwright, photographer, film-maker, friend and mentor to many, was recently diagnosed with Lung Cancer. Ineligible for conventional treatment, he's pursuing alternative approaches. Because these aren't covered by insurance, a foundation has been established to assist in funding his treatment. You can view Ty's photographs, read his biography, or make a donation at http://my.att.net/p/pwp-tysite In reaching out to Ty's friends and students, I've been astounded at the variety and number of those whose lives he has touched. Your show of support will acknowledge that Ty is a special and valued member of our community. Attend the benefit to celebrate life, love and music while dancing to the tune of an important cause." Annual Benefit Concert for Hudson Valley Hospice
with Tom Chapin, Terry Blaine
Acoustic, and Singer-Songwriter
Bard College's Olin Hall
Annandale-on-Hudson, NY   See Map
For the last couple of years, Terry Blaine has invited me to join her to raise money for the music department at Hudson Valley Hospice. Last year, Tom Chapin joined us and it was a blast! I loved working with him and having his band join me for a couple of songs before Tom came on stage.

This year, Terry has decided to do a full-blown Tom Chapin concert where she and I will be doing background vocals with him. The concert will be held in a bigger venue at Bard College so that we can host a larger crowd (and make more money for Hospice!) This promises to be a really special event.

here's the scoop:

Tickets are $15/adults and $10 for seniors/students. Tom Chapin & Friends are doing their Family Show, which means everyone from age 0-100 can join in the fun!! Contact phone for ticket reservations: 845-473-2273 X 1109.

John Reddan Band
Carrying On The "Night Before Thanksgiving" Tradition

A Warwick native, John has been studying the music of the Hudson Valley his whole life, and even though the learning curve is still growing and moving, the man has found his niche. He was astute at an early age and found the object of his desire, The Blues and found the teacher of a lifetime, the incredible Bill Perry, a resident of Chester, the Hudson Valley and the world of the Blues.

This night is one that has belonged to the Bill Perry Blues Band for 10+ years, and John and his band are the only ones who can fill those shoes. The baton has been passed, Carry On My Blues-Ward Son, Make Bill proud!

Special Guest: Jeremy Baum. Over the years Jeremy Baum has done freelance work for many different artists. Since 2005 he has been touring (USA, Canada, Europe) with Grammy-nominated blues singer Shemekia Copeland. He has also toured/recorded with members of the Band (Jim Weider, Randy Ciarlante, Levon Helm), as well as many other blues artists (Bill Perry, Sue Foley, Debbie Davies, soul-jazz legend Melvin Sparks.) Since 1997 Jeremy has been playing piano, arranging and composing for Soñando, an exciting 10 piece salsa band. He also leads his own organ trio, which is rooted in the blues and inspired by the funky soul-jazz sounds of the late 60s.

10th Annual Night After Thanksgiving BASH
with Twist & Shout
Bodles Opera House
39 Main Street
Chester, NY   See Map
From the moment they arrived in the U.S. in 1964, The Beatles changed popular music forever. Their music has remained modern and timeless for generation after generation.

Twist & Shout! is the most exciting and powerful Beatles Tribute band to hit the states in years. The members of Twist & Shout! have recorded a half-dozen albums since the mid-'70s and have performed with top-name artists for thousands of fans.

Twist & Shout! instantly captures audiences with a driving sound and remarkably contemporary stage presence that delivers an incredibly authentic and memorable concert. Many critics say they best represent "what The Beatles would sound like live in concert today."

Nearly 3 years after the tragic and untimely death of 23-year old guitarist and keyboardist Jon George; Craig Romano (bass), Edward Kosowski (guitars), Roger Vail (drums) and Wayne George (keyboards) have added guitarist Evan Teatum to the band as they continue to perform a new and re-energized Tribute to The Beatles in Jon’s memory ... to his unyielding spirit to entertain and for his love of music.

After 12 years, the music and magic of The Beatles rocks-on as only Twist & Shout! can play it! This night's always a sellout so reserve your tickets now!

Evan and his vocalist partner Lesley Bowe (and likely other special guests) will opening the evening with a set of their signature duets.

Post Thanksgiving show at Great Coffee House
with Phil Minissale
Acoustic, Blues
2 Alices Coffee Lounge
311 Hudson Street
Cornwall on Hudson, NY   See Map
"Phil Minissale is a young acoustic bluesman from Long Island, NY who's been rapidly ascending the ladder of recognition, and with good reason. Though his youthful voice hasn't acquired the gravitas we associate with traditional blues, these eleven songs are loaded with down-home honesty.

Minissale respects the traditions but writes his own songs. He tickles the guitar with assurance but without excess flash or flab, and happily offers the spotlight to his guest musicians, notably Ken Korb on harmonica and Red Molly's Abbie Gardner on dobro.

His approach to blues guitar traditions is reverent, but not so careful and precious that it sounds academic, as can sometimes happen with students of blues guitar. Finally, lest anyone claim that country blues is a game for the grizzled, let's not forget that Robert Johnson never made it past age 27. Securely recommended for fans of traditional blues and folk."

Another great concert in WMW's Live @ Woodstock Mothership series. These events are recorded live for limited edition albums.

Superb Indo-Jazz fusion on 2 consecutive nights! Featuring Mitch Greenberg- shenai and bansuri flute Tani Tabbal- drums Bill Moring- bass "Out of all the various configurations of the Ray Spiegel Ensemble that have appeared at the Woodstock Mothership this year, this is the group that took me out of this universe and into an otherworldly trance. The sound of Mitch's ragas coming from the Indian double-reed Indian horn called "shenai", combined with the acoustic bass of Bill Moring and the world beat jazz drumming of Tani Tabbal, creates a unique trinity of sound capable of transporting the human spirit toward the infinite."

Acoustic
Towne Crier Cafe
130 Route 22
Pawling, NY   See Map
In the 3 years since the release of their Juno nominated recording, "B.A.R.K.," Blackie & The Rodeo Kings have been very busy. They appeared live on the Juno and CCMA Award shows; toured across Canada with country legend Merle Haggard; toured the US on the heels of a top 15 Americana radio hit, and all three founding members released solo CDs. BARK garnered the band 4 singles, 2 of which went top 30 at Rock Radio.

Stretching the parameters of acoustic music, Fuzz & Carrie's CARAVAN OF THIEVES have been winning immediate praise for their new and unique brand of gypsy flavored song writing and their high intensity show. This vocal harmonizing, acoustic guitar spanking husband & wife duo have extended their family to include fiery violinist Ben Dean and double bass madman Brian Anderson in their colorful vision. Their Beatlesque vocal harmonies, driving & swinging rhythms, satirical & dramatic song writing and an overall circus of sound make for a fun and musically satisfying show.

Black 47 espouses an unblinkingly political and thoroughly Irish form of rock 'n' roll, with songs covering topics from the Northern Ireland conflict to civil rights and urban unrest in contemporary New York. Black 47 earned their chops playing the pub scene in Manhattan and self-producing their first indie record, Black 47, before converting The Cars' Ric Ocasek to the cause and gaining mainstream attention with their second album.

Influenced by the likes of Townes Van Zandt and John Prine, his music has been described as warm and whimsical country/folk. Eric has recently relocated to the Hudson Valley area of New York.

What happens when you have had a cult following for some 30 plus years, shared many a stage with headlining artist, backed up the Howard Stern band for some time and have a name that people think you are a R&B superstar. Well, you are...Chris Brown, a very handsome deep, smooth and sensual voiced singer songwriter who can perform the songs of Neil Diamond to James Taylor but really kicks arse when you do your original material. Having produced a number of original cd's Chris Brown in my opinion is..."The Original Chris Brown". If you don't believe me, come check him out tonight. I personally guarantee that you will fall in love with him and his music. I know I have. There is no cover for tonight's performance, your generosity is appreciated. Dockside is located just 3.8 miles off the Bryant Pond Road exit of the Taconic Parkway.

Since it falls right after Thanksgiving, the theme this time is Home and Family, so all the songs will have to do with those subjects. We will bring you eight of the area's best musicians singing their favorite songs about sisters, uncles, dads, etc., and the places they all live. We'll present the good the bad and the silly sides of home as only the Jam can, so don't miss this one!!

Admission is now $5, but if you bring a non-perishable food item you can still get in for the old $3 price. The number of registrants at the Saugerties Food Pantry has doubled this year, so your contribution will go to help those who have fallen on hard times. Hope to see you then -- and bring family!

The music of GANDALF MURPHY AND THE SLAMBOVIAN CIRCUS OF DREAMS has been variously described as "hillbilly-Floyd," "folk-pop," "alt-country, roots-rock," and "surreal Americana;" a clear indicator of its singularly indescribable uniqueness. Dancing freely between all existing religious and philosophical mythologies, the music is uplifting, empowering, and a lot of fun. "The Slambovians cast a wide net ... [their] music seems to energize anyone who hears it." -Relix Magazine
