Frances Kramer
Singer-Songwriter
Taste Budd's Chocolate and Coffee Cafe
40 West Market Street
Red Hook, NY   See Map
This is what happens when a talented singer/songwriter/ multi-instrumentalist taps into the deep roots of American music with a pop sensibility to create original music that is as entertaining as it is sincere and heartfelt.

Raised on classical, pop, folk, and rock music in historic Wethersfield, Connecticut (one of the hippest places to be in the 1600’s), Frances Kramer was trained on piano and oboe and self-taught on guitar, banjo, and voice. After making an escape from Bryn Mawr College, she found herself singing country and folk tunes and playing the banjo for a meager living followed by singing and playing guitar in rock bands for no living. While living in a converted school bus camper in the northeast corner of the state, she began to compose poetry and to write songs and instrumental music.

33 Lake Way
Purdys, NY   See Map
Don't miss this rare appearance by the Hudson Valley's seminal progressive Bluegrass Band, "Out to Lunch"!!

Based in the New York metropolitan area, Out To Lunch was "founded" in 1980 ... at first as a loose collection of friends coming together for an occasional "open mike" night. They soon began to "get serious" and refine their sound as they sensed they had something special to offer with shows that had broad appeal to audiences. Over TWENTY-FIVE YEARS later Out To Lunch is still delighting audiences with a sound uniquely their own that combines the very best of musical warmth and sharpness.

A great place to see, play and hear music. This is a wonderful room and we’re really excited to be appearing here again. Format for the evening: 7 pm .......Jam 8pm ....... open mic 9pm .......... Out to Lunch

BILL MILLER, guest STEVE KIRKMAN
Singer-Songwriter
Towne Crier Cafe
130 Route 22
Pawling, NY   See Map
Grammy-winner Bill Miller is one of America's foremost Native American artists. Many will remember his powerful performances in Songs of the Spirit with the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra, a special that PBS continues to showcase in their fund drives. Reservation-raised but influenced by the music of Hendrix, Dylan and Neil Young as much as that of his Mohican heritage, his own sound utilizes guitar, harmonica and native flutes to provide a setting and vehicle for his poetry. His songs encompass both timeless mysticism and modern urgency, connecting with lovers of traditional native music as well as with pop audiences (including Tori Amos, who asked him to open her shows on the Under the Pink tour).

Featuring the voices of Sara Milonovich (The McKrells, Richard Shindell, Cathie Ryan) and Abbie Gardner (Red Molly), plus the instrumental firepower of Sara's fiddle and Abbie's dobro & lap-steel, along with the saxes, banjos and other surprising contributions to the stew by Andy Goessling (Railroad Earth), the guitars and odd strings of Greg Anderson (Eileen Ivers, Whirligig), and the unstoppable world rhythm section of Leo Traversa (Don Byron, Tania Maria) on bass, and Ben Wittman (Paul Simon, Solas, Paula Cole) on drums & percussion.

If you ask Kevin Kinney and Jeff Storms who influenced their music you might want to pull up a chair. The list is rather long. It Is also infused in their music which is a rather nice mix of folk, blues, rock and pop. You don't hear any one particular artist because the guys have created their own unique sound. Whether its one of their own tunes or an interesting cover their guitar strumming and pick-in blends nicely with their individual vocals and warm harmonies. There is no cover for this evenings performance, your generosity is always appreciated. Dockside is located just 3.8 miles off the Bryant Pond Road exit of the Taconic Parkway.

Tonight, we'll be featuring -- O.K., let's face it, even though it's a coffeehouse, we're NOT playing anything where you NEED a cup of coffee just to stay awake. We're claiming some floor space, rolling in the amps and drum kit, plugging in, and making sure there's a whole lotta shakin' goin' on -- so don't say we didn't give you advance notice, Harvey. Furthermore . . . you will have a good time.

An all-ages show, nice for those who prefer a non-alcoholic environment. NO COVER

And of course, we raise our collective coffee cups to toast and give a special thank-you to the New Paltz Muddy Cup for their continuing support of our music.
