After 2 albums with her husband Geoff, she went solo, releasing the gold record MIDNIGHT AT THE OASIS in 1974. THE DARK SIDE OF BLUES & ROOTS
with BOSS TWEED
Americana
DOCKSIDE PUB
825 South Lake Boulevard
Mahopac, NY   See Map
Brooklyn based Boss Tweed plays music that stems from the dark side of blues and roots music. The trio is fronted by double threat Carolyn Sills on the Fender bass and lead vocals and features the dynamite Gretsch guitar playing of Gerard Egan, whose classic but innovative style conjures the larger than life sound of yesterdays guitar heroes. Combine these two powerful forces with the old-school New Orleans drumming of Eric Reed, soaring male/female harmonies and original tunes drenched in grit and twang and you'll see why Boss Tweed is changing the way people view Americana music. I guarantee this to be a great night of music. (mp) There is no cover for this performance, your generosity is always appreciated. Dockside is located just 3.8 miles off the Bryant Pond Road exit of the Taconic Parkway.

DANNY KALB has long been recognized as one of America's foremost guitarists. A protege of the great Dave Van Ronk, Kalb established himself in New York's seminal folk & blues scene where he was first known as a solo performer and session player with Phil Ochs, Judy Collins, Pete Seeger and others. In 1965, Kalb founded the THE BLUES PROJECT along with Steve Katz and Al Kooper. His touch on the guitar is as exciting and as individual as ever.

Since 1966, PAUL GEREMIA has built a reputation as one of the finest bluesmen alive, a scholar of blues and jazz, and one of the best country blues fingerpickers ever. His delivery is natural and relaxed, his guitar work nonchalantly breathtaking. With his 6 & 12-string guitars, harmonica, piano, his husky, soulful voice, plus an innate sense of the humor & drama of the music, he keeps the tradition fresh with both standard and obscure tunes, as well as his own.

Towne Crier Cafe
130 Route 22
Pawling, NY   See Map
The most commercially successful solo artist of the "Girl Group" era, with a string of hits that include It's My Party and You Don't Own Me, LESLEY GORE dazzled the world with her brilliant pop instincts and independent spirit. Her now-burnished voice deepens everything it touches with the hard-won wisdom of time. "Lesley Gore is back. And this time it really is her party. The former teen idol's voice is better than ever, and especially poignant..." - Philadelphia Inquirer

TWO GUITARS ~ Brian Conigliaro & Gus Wieland ~ can collectively boast a versatile background that includes stints with The Turtles, Chubby Checker, Ray Charles, Eubie Blake and Snoop Dogg (believe it or not!), as well as jazz artists Jerry Mulligan and Dizzie Gillespie. Together they create a really unique duet with exotic acoustic arrangements of guitar interplay, featuring well known songs, as well as originals & obscure nuggets.

GARRIN BENFIELD, also KEN WHITELEY
Singer-Songwriter
Towne Crier Cafe
130 Route 22
Pawling, NY   See Map
GARRIN BENFIELD's sound has been described as Freestyle Acoustic Rock: a blend of moody, guitar driven rock, blues, and polyrhythmic grooves. First and foremost, Garrin is an improvisational guitar player, and he twists and turns the tunes during every performance in an ever-evolving search for new musical challenges.

KEN WHITELEY, one of Canada's finest musical statesman, has been called a "playing encyclopedia" for his depth and range of styles, covering everything from blues and gospel to children's music. He was even a writer for Raffi. He has received 6 Juno nominations for his recordings in Blues, Roots & Traditional and Children categories. He has also recorded and performed with blues and folk legends Pete Seeger, Lonnie Johnson, John Hammond, Tom Paxton, Blind John Davis, Leon Redbone and countless others. Drawing from the deep wells of many traditions, Whiteley creates something fresh that communicates themes of freedom, love, spiritual aspiration and social comment.
