The Woodstock Fringe is a mostly theatrical series that takes place throughout the month of August here in Woodstock. They have multiple performances happening almost every night of the month. The producer, Wallace Norman, has asked me to do three shows at the Byrdcliffe Theater featuring a combination of my original music and the music I recorded on A Little Dream - 13 songs from the American Songbook. I'm really looking forward to putting the two things together. And I love working with Peter and Lou who will accompany me on the standards when I sing, as well as joining me on my own songs too. Hope to see you at one (or two, or three) of these events!

Don't miss this event! Not only is Newburgh's own, The Sugar Beats, being one of the opening acts for the legendary Eric Burdon & the Animals, this is one of the bands they idolized and of whose era they play their music from. So besides coming to see Eric and his band play their great tunes of that era, come see The Sugar Beats pave the way with their own blend of British/American Rock/Psychedelic music from that magical era of the 60's-70's. Come early so you won't miss this one of a kind band from the Hudson Valley. Come hear the sounds of guitar, drums, organ, and bass that made the music of that time so great and such a groove to listen to (as well as dance and party to). Instead of asking, "Where Have All the Good Times Gone?" come and have a good time. You'll be glad that you did. Who better than The Sugar Beats to get you prepared for Eric Burdon & the Animals. It will bring back some good memories of the good times gone and the start of those yet to come.

The CLAIRE LYNCH Band
Acoustic, Bluegrass, and Folk/Traditional
Towne Crier Cafe
130 Route 22
Pawling, NY   See Map
By any measure, the Claire Lynch Band is high on the bluegrass world's A-List, with musicians whose accolades include International Bluegrass Music Ass'n Female Vocalist of the Year and two Grammy nominations for Best Bluegrass Album, two IBMA Guitar Player of the Year awards and two IBMA Bass Player of the Year awards. Claire's musical direction dates back to the Front Porch String Band, resulting in a seasoned sound that is simultaneously unpretentious and richly textured. It's a down-home, front porch sensibility -- until you realize that it's a rare front porch, indeed, that has ever hosted musicians of this caliber. Dolly Parton credits Claire with "one of the sweetest, purest and best lead voices in the music business today." Claire's harmonies have graced the recordings of many stellar musicians, from Ralph Stanley to Linda Ronstadt. Equally gifted as a songwriter, her songs have been recorded by The Seldom Scene, Patty Loveless, Kathy Mattea, The Whites and others.

We're helping to raise funds for "Stop the Crossroads Development in New Paltz" ! All proceeds at the door will be going to S.O.C. (Save Our Community). Stop Crossroads is an ad-hoc group of citizens concerned about the oversized and potentially environmentally damaging proposal called "Crossroads at New Paltz", a FIFTY-SEVEN acre development.

Would you want your neighbor to keep an elephant tied up in his backyard? Sure, it's HIS property -- Would it impact on YOU? Think about it. And then speak out about it.

The Town of New Paltz must first approve Planned Unit Development (PUD) zoning for the site. At 7:00PM on Monday, September 8th, at Ulster County BOCES, the Town Planning Board will hold a continuation hearing to receive public comment on the proposed Crossroads Development in New Paltz.

Speak Up and Be Heard !!! Come Out and Help Preserve the Character of the Town of New Paltz.

Door Charge is $6.00 if you're under 21, $4.00 if you're 21 and over.

Taste Budd's Chocolate and Coffee Cafe
40 West Market Street
Red Hook, NY   See Map
New York City born Margaret Bernstein is an award winning singer-songwriter, composer and flutist with a unique voice, dynamic lyrics, and a positive and compelling message. Unlike many other songwriters of the pop-rock genre, Margaret is a classically trained musician who is an accomplished instrumental performer as well as a composer. Her musical compositions, which include elements from a diverse spectrum of styles and genres, have been inspired not only by her personal experiences and travels including four pilgrimages to India but also by her Scottish and Russian/Jewish roots. Her live performances are a testament to Margaret’s amazing versatility, as she quickly segues from playing a Bach Partita on her flute, to accompanying herself on the piano while passionately singing an upbeat pop/rock song. What makes Margaret stand out, however, is not only her eclectic and interesting background and level of accomplishment as a musician, but also her ability to communicate honestly and p

Drawing strong comparisons to Paul Simon, Bob Dylan and Mark Knopfler, Bud Buckley has come on to the indie acoustic rock scene by blending thoughtful fingerstyle acoustic guitar with thoughtful vignette-style lyrics. His songs are more about words and the vocal delivery. The lyrics speak to our humanity, our wins and losses. our draws and each of those is equally valuable. He strives not to use cliches either lyrically or vocally. Dockside is located just 3.8 miles off the Bryant Pond Road exit of the Taconic Parkway. There is no cover for this performance. The buzz about Patti Rothberg says it all: "One stop from stardom...a mix of urban folk and full-tilt rock." -USA Today "Shrewdly mixing folk, ballads and power rock, Rothberg distinguishes herself from the screamers by showing her spunk ...without the punk." - People Magazine "The most inspired debut in recent memory." -Billboard "Rothberg avoids strident alternative pop for a thick, sensuous rock brew that adds ingredients from psychedelia, folk, power pop and even glam. Rothberg perfectly balances craft and grit, brains and heart, grace and guts." -Michael Toland, High Bias Patti has opened for Pat Benatar, The Wallflowers and Chris Isaak.
