 The Borderline Folk Music Club of Rockland County will present STRAIGHT DRIVE in a special house concert. This is a full 6 piece Bluegrass band featuring banjoist Terry McGill & vocalist Jen Larson. They will be doing two 45 minute sets of traditional Appalachian Bluegrass music with a 20 minute intermission. The suggested donation is $20 per person payable in cash on the day of the concert. | For those of you who have been lucky enough to attend one of Levon Helm's Midnight Rambles, I'm sure you were impressed by the terrific horn section in The Levon Helm Band. This is your chance to catch those guys in an intimate setting with there own band doing their brand of jazzy R 'n' B, Nawlins funk, and rock n roll. Hipmosis features soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone saxophone player, Erik Lawrence, and trumpeteer extraordinaire, Steve Bernstein, both of The Levon Helm Band. These guys just came off the road, so they're bound to be revved up for a great show. The next day they'll be at the Ramble with an admission price of $150.00.  Long before The Monkees, Peter Tork was a well-respected musician/artist in the burgeoning New York folk scene. Peter's gift for playing a plethora of instruments generated high demand for his services as a sideman/back-up artist. Peter knocked around for several hungry years in the mid-'60s, 'hanging' and performing with the likes of John Phillips, Steven Stills and Dave Van Ronk. The fateful call, which would change Peter's life forever, came in June of 1965: Friend and confidant Steven Stills, not quite hitting the mark with his own audition, rang his buddy Peter, urging him to give it a go. Stills' remarks to the producers that he knew "just the man to fill the bill" were spot on. Not totally satisfied with fame, though, Peter never left his "starving artist" roots. He could forever be found jamming with bands, learning from them and honing his chops. Music legend Jimi Hendrix jammed with Peter on several occasions, calling him "The most talented Monkee."

Probably the largest working blues band in the world, Duke Robillard started the band in 1967 and crafted a trademark sound with lots of horns and a swinging, danceable style of blues and R&B spanning the years back to the '30s. Even though the band's lineup has changed over the years, they have always been one of the tightest, most joyful blues ensembles in the world.

 Alice Leon is one of OD's most popular performers. As Lead of the great Rock foursome, The Alice Project, she's garnered a large fan base, and her music can be heard on movie and TV sound tracks. Her friend Sandy Zio is a fine performer in her own right (a member of the Mojo Mystics), and her mellow voicings blend beautifully with Alice's bright vocals. When they sing together, "The Chicks" can mix up their songlist with personally penned tunes, as well as favorite covers that they don't do in their own acts.
