Biography
Compton Maddux has been recognized by CMT, NSAI, Gary Allen, Deena Miller & Glenn O'Brien for his country rock singing & songwriting.
Out of over 4,000 NSAI entries Compton's soon to be hit song "Black Violin" placed in the top 15 and was a 2008 CMT NSAI Listener's Choice Finalist.
"Black Violin" was also selected by Gary Allen (JJ Cale/Charlie Daniels Band) as the winner of the Tennessee Concerts April 2008 Song of the Month Contest. Gary's comment was "Man, you win hands down - Simply the best song and best submission. The submitters were tough...one of the best came from the next street over from me, and she is great, but you won fair and square."
Compton was hand-picked by Deena Miller (Daughter of Jimmy/Rolling Stones Producer) to kick off the "R U Man ENUFF" portion of her acclaimed Chick Singer Night. He will be the first man ever to perform in this new series. It will debut at The Bitter End in NYC on Apr 29.

The Golden Apple Coffeehouse is heading into its third season of providing a wonderful and inspiring venue for musicians and audiences to share music and community. By June we will have presented over 40 (mostly local) performers in nine separate concerts, and have thrilled and entertained hundreds of audience members. The proceeds from "Wall to Wall 60's and 70's" actually helps fund the coffeehouse for the next season, so it is a crucial evening for us to raise what we need in order to have a next season.

 We welcome back our good friend Thomas Earl. Thomas a resident of nearby Cold Springs has literally transversed the highways and byways of the American music scene. Briefly taking a detour to enter corporate America he quickly learned it was not for him. He's back, and thats good. His new Album Golddust Magic is an introspective look at his life and that of Americas recent past. He instills a number of different musical disiplines as he weaves some great storytelling married with memorable melodies. There is no cover for this evenings performance, your generosity is always appreciated. Dockside is located just 3.8 miles off the Bryant Pond Road exit of the Taconic Parkway.

May 23rd - June 7th. BSP will be rockin' and rollin' during the production of the classic musical "Bye Bye Birdie." Advance tickets - $10 adults and $5 for students - are now on sale. $12 and $8 at the door. Though it originally premiered in 1960, this Broadway classic musical comedy still speaks to and entertains young people of all ages today. We forget how many popular expressions and hit songs came from this one show... A Lot of Livin’ To Do, Put On A Happy Face, Kids, The Telephone Hour, One Boy, 1 Last Kiss, the pelvis grinding, Gotta Be Sincere. Of course, there’s also plenty of dancing!
BIG NEWS: The Castaway Players, a group acclaimed in recent years as being "a collection of some of the most exceptional singers, dancers and actors in the entire state”, recently merged into BSP to further complement and enhance the musical talent in the Company.
