Fred Gillen Jr & Lorna Gonsalves in ConcertFolk/Traditional, Singer-Songwriter
Hudson Valley folk singer/songwriter Fred Gillen Jr has traveled the world singing his songs about hope in hard times, giving away over 12,000 stickers bearing the slogan "wage love" along the way. He has released 12 full-length albums to critical acclaim and performed with his heroes such as Pete Seeger, Merle Haggard, and Red Molly. His songs have been heard on ABC's "All My Children," NPR's "Car Talk," and CMJ's "New Music Marathon Sampler".
: Born and raised in India where she received training in western classical singing, Lorna Gonsalves has performed widely in India, the U.S., and abroad. She has always been drawn to folk/protest music of the sixties and is currently experimenting with various styles of singing as she builds up her live performance presence in the Hudson Valley.
Fred and Lorna will present a joint concert, channeling the spirit of the great protest music of the civil rights era and they will also include some of their other favorites.
