Sought after guitarist, songwriter and entertainer Glen Roethel brings solo acoustic guitar and vocal to a new level of excitement, beauty and fun. Glen's original music uplifts and inspires (for small to large stages, churches, festivals, fairs, house concerts, libraries, conferences and more) while his endless repertoire of fun and beautiful covers (great songs spanning more than 6 decades, supported by his own deft acoustic guitar playing and ukulele) lights up parties, conventions, dinners, night venues, and events in a voice that his peers on the international circuit appreciate:

Witty, energetic and very approachable, Glen always finds a couple of opportunities within a show for 'volunteers' to come help him sing up on stage (always to the delight of their friends). For company parties, Glen often works information about employees and staff into the show, and may spontaneously sing an entire song about a situation — as it’s happening at the event.

“Glen has that gift which brings out a spark in people.” - Amy Tuttle, Long Island Music Hall of Fame, Folk Music Society of Huntington, NY

Glen is frequently heard on Public Radio, Ireland Free radio, the BBC and more, and has been compared to the likes of Jack Johnson, James Taylor and Jason Mraz in his vocal and guitar styles.

“Just GREAT..... Performances 'straight from the heart' ! ! !” - Jean Alain Roussel (Cat Stevens, Celine Dion, Bob Marley & The Wailers, Thin Lizzy, 10cc, The Police)

He has released 3 solo CDs of family-friendly uplifting songs: From Beginning To End (2004) and Smaller Things (2008); Unfolding (2013), as well as two with his former folk-rock harmony trio, Gathering Time: Songs Of Hope And Freedom, and Red Apples And Gold; Glen has co-written, co-produced and performed on three children’s CDs (one which has won awards: Paul Helou, Bears, Bees & Butterflies), and added vocals and guitars to The Eight Voyages Of Nep, and Golden State (by Penny Nichols), Traveling Salesman, and All In Good Time (by Joe Iadanza), Postcards From Antigua (by Josh Joffen), as well as several singles by various artists. In a concert setting, his warm, inclusive style often inspires sing-alongs and play-alongs, clapping in time, and frequent dance parties... as unlikely as that may seem for one acoustic guitar and vocal.
Glen teaches at Summersongs (a songwriting and performance camp with Winter and Summer sessions on the east and west coasts), and tours the eastern US mostly, making appearances at various listening venues, festivals, medical parties and spiritual conventions, private parties, concert series, restaurants and fine dining halls, colleges, radio stations, town festivals, performing arts centers and public libraries. His act can be tailored to your needs (soft rock, party music, original music, songs written just for you, or all of the above), depending on your audience's expectations and the needs of your event.
