Rabbbits in Delusionville A Rock Opera, Ron English, Russ Cusick, Christine Dominguez, Joe Johnson, Will Bryant, Brandon Morrison , Lee FalcoThe Falcon
1348 Route 9W
Marlboro, NY   See Map
The rock opera, "Rabbbits in Delusionville" is a post-factual Animal-Farm-meets-Aesop's-Fables...on LSD. The society that is Delusionville is a picturesque utopia, formed as different animals fell down a rabbbit hole, creating a world with their own mythologies, religion, and politics. Each animal group represents an embedded archetype in the social structure that is about to come into question - a commentary on faux news, stagnation of social mobility, and downright delusional thinking!

Act One – Introduces all of the characters in Delusionville and brings into question the nature of their society and their various places in the social order.

Act Two – The animals get riled up about the economic disparity and social injustice in their previously unquestioned world of delusion.

Act Three – A very unusual take on revolution.

Together they have written and recorded two double CDs. Listen at: http://www.popaganda.com/ronsnews/delusionville/https://youtu.be/l9KgyiDejdc

1348 Route 9W
Marlboro, NY   See Map
A multi-media celebration of the the lives and music of Dexter Gordon, and other American jazz musicians living in Europe in the 1960s.

Gordon's sound was commonly characterized as being "large" and spacious and to play behind the beat. He was famous for humorously inserting musical quotes into his solos. One of his major influences was Lester Young. Gordon, in turn, was an early influence on John Coltrane and Sonny Rollins. Rollins and Coltrane then influenced Gordon's playing as he explored hard bop and modal playing during the 1960s.

Dexter Gordon's soundtrack for the film, 'Round Midnight, entitled The Other Side of Round Midnight won a Grammy for Best Instrumental Jazz Performance, Soloist. Herbie Hancock won the Academy Award for Best Music, Original Score. This legendary soundtrack was released in two parts: Round Midnight and The Other Side of Round Midnight.

Plain White T’s

Date: Friday January 12th, 2018 Time: 8:00pm-10:00pm Admission: $52, $68.65, $80

The Grammy-nominated Plain White T’s—composed of Tom Higgenson, Tim Lopez, Dave Trio, De’Mar Hamilton and Mike Retondo—kicked off their vibrant career in the Chicago suburbs in 1997, playing a unique blend of pop, punk, and melody-driven rock and roll in basements and clubs across the metro area.

Nearly two decades later, the quintet has become a global success, with thousands of shows, a string of multi-platinum hit singles (“Rhythm of Love,” “1, 2, 3, 4”) and one of the most downloaded songs of all time under their belts: Grammy-nominated “Hey There Delilah.” The band’s latest album, American Nights, is their first independent release since 2001, and the collection focuses on everything fans have come to expect from the Plain White T’s – summery anthems, heart-on-the sleeve lyrics and acoustic love songs.

Abraham & the GrooveThe Falcon
1348 Route 9W
Marlboro, NY   See Map
When Chicago-born Abraham Dennis arrived in New York, from Switzerland - where he spent fifteen years fronting various soul bands - word got around that he was looking for a rhythm section, and that "This guy can really SING!".

There was magic in engineer/percussionist Peter Martin's studio when Abraham, Kevin O'Toole, the band's former bassist Mike Colletti , Peter Martin and Tony Parker played together.

There was a "natural groove" so the band became "The Groove", and their slogan became "Sweet Soul Music". That's what they're doing! Making people smile and dance throughout the Hudson Valley since 2011, with a blend of R&B, Latin and funk, to make you "get up offa' that thang".

Her Tiny Desk concert made NPR’s top 15 of 2015.

Fresh off a nine-country tour as a cultural ambassador with the US State Department, Chavez’s passionate collection of bilingual songs take audiences on a journey through the Americas, blending the sounds and rhythms of the region with tension and grace.

“Most striking is Chavez’s ease as she moves between social and love songs, between North American and Latin genres, and even between languages: When she passes mid-song from English to Spanish and back, it’s the most natural thing in the world.“ -The Boston Globe
