Absolute Zero is also made up of Mahopac HS students. AZ features Ryan Shevlin (guitar), Jaime Bochiccio (vocals), Matthew Martirano (drums) AND Michael Sottile (bass/vocals/keys). Saturday 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm | Walkabout Clearwater Chorus and Coffeehouse with The Kennedys Folk/Traditional | Memorial United Methodist Church 250 Bryant Avenue White Plains, NY See Map |
In a career that now spans two decades, New York duo Maura and Pete Kennedy have traversed a broad musical landscape, surveying power pop, acoustic songwriting, and organic rock rooted in their early days in Austin, Texas. Pete handles most of the heavy guitar duties just as he once did for Nanci Griffith on her Grammy-winning "Other Voices, Other Rooms" and on tour. He also spent some time playing with Mary Chapin Carpenter's band. He released a few solo instrumental discs to much local acclaim before meeting Maura. Maura hails from Syracuse, NY, and gained some fame with the alt-country Delta Rays in Austin. Before that, she had won the New York Country Music Association's Songwriter of the Year Award and wrote songs for Warner Music. A great strength of The Kennedys is their ability to pen a stellar melody amidst a soundtrack that spans the American roots music spectrum with more than a heavy slant on heyday rock 'n' roll.
