Emerging Artist Showcase
with Sam Levin, Sonya McGaffey
Acoustic, Singer-Songwriter
12 Grapes Music & Wine Bar
12 North Division Street
Peekskill, NY   See Map
Sam Levin is a natural born musician. He started playing guitar at age 5 and writing music by 7, which is when we first met young Sam at a 12 Grapes Open Mic. A night we'll never forget, as he blew the audience away! Now at the ripe old age of 15 Sam Levin just released some of his best work, on his new album, "Frame of Mind". Says one reviewer, "Sam Levin is possibly one of the most eclectic and innovative artists in the current scene right now." Quite impressive.

Sonya also started singing very early in life. Her passion is musical theatre, but she has grown to be an impressive singer and guitarist. Sonya is a granddaugter of a famous Russian Composer and a performer Vyacheslav Dobrynin. She actually performed with him in Moscow Russia. We also met Sonya at a 12 Grapes Open Mic and was immediately impressed.

Join us in supporting these emerging young musicians.

Bluegrass, Americana, and Singer-Songwriter
Hootenanny Cafe Mini Concerts
Online: www.wtbq.com or 93.5FM, NY   See Map
“Celebrating my journey in recovery through music, hoping to provide inspiration to all.” One Song at a Time takes us on a journey with a thoughtfully chosen selection of songs that deftly weave in Barbara Jo’s own personal story of struggle and redemption. The album kicks off powerfully with her joyous, bluegrass infused version of the classic “I Can See Cleary Now,” speaking to the clarity of mind and spirit that has sprung from her sobriety. Her rendering of the George Jones hit, “Choices’ is nothing short of inspired, reflecting her years of struggle. Her original song, “The Winning Side” is an honest and personal glimpse at the artist’s journey through addiction. Traditional favorites and popular classics show Kammer’s versatility with a powerful voice reminiscent of greats like Linda Ronstadt, Joan Baez, or Mary Chapin Carpenter.

Zephyr Restaurant

This acoustic fingerstyle blues guitar player is driven by his deep desire to keep the music of days gone by fresh and alive. Mike Herman lives in the Catskills, and teaches guitar.

He has played in the acoustic blues duo, The Hell Hounds, having recorded three of their own CDs, and contributing to two compilations for Larchmont Recordings with other artists such as: Rhonda Vincent, Sue Foley, and Duke Robillard. They have performed at concerts, festivals, clubs and colleges up and down the East Coast and into the Midwest, and have opened for notables such as Roy Bookbinder, John Hammond and Bob Margolin.

Now a solo player, Mike has blended his influences of acoustic blues, bluegrass, ragtime and most recently old-timey music into a style uniquely his own. His originals speak of life and the trials and tribulations it may dish out.

His whole-souled talent and skill in composing is only heightened by his masterful marriage of words and music.
