Peekskill, NY   See Map
Two Guitars - Brian Conigliaro and Gus Wieland perform live at the BeanRunner Cafe on Friday, June 19th @ 8 pm. Add to all this vocal harmonies and Brian's virtuoso harmonica playing, for an evening of great live music. The performance is free and open to the public.

Brian & Gus have been in the music business on both coasts and have also done many commercials. This eclecticism brings a wise and experienced mastery to Two Guitars. Acoustic exotic arrangements of well known songs as well as originals & obscure nuggets, garner their sets and guitar interplay with uncanny perception for one another. Together they create a really unique duet.

And now for something completely different... "Nice Jewish Girls Gone Bad" is a refreshing mix of comedy, music, spoken-word and show-stopping burlesque, featuring the gals who learned to smoke at Hebrew School, got drunk at their Bat-Mitzvahs and would rather have more schtuppa than the chupah, featuring performers seen on Comedy Central, HBO and Late Night TV. These badass chosen chicks boldly dare to deconstruct years of tradition, expectations and guilt in a fast-paced vaudeville extravaganza. It's ain't yo' mama's Fiddler! "Nice Jewish Girls Gone Bad" opened at The Zipper Theater in NYC last year and received rave reviews: 3 stars from the NY Post, Backstage called it "a spontaneous party" and the Village Voice said it was "super fun." On this third Saturday of June the Music Menu @Mezzaluna will present Mark Brown and Fran Palmieri’s Trio Mio.

Combining a sharp eye with a sly sense of humor reminiscent of John Prine, Mark Brown makes songs that hail from everywhere, incorporating ballads, cowboy songs, jigs, sideshow melodies, and field hollers. His songs give voice to craftsmen, broken-hearted mechanics, heavy equipment operators, squatters and girls with their dirt bikes.

Fran Palmieri is a top notch singer-songwriter performing with Robert Muller and Bruce Hildenbrand, collectively known as Trio Mio. Their mostly original repertoire shows their influences from rock, country, and jazz.

Henry Hudson and the Half Moon is about the voyage made by Henry Hudson in 1609. In that year Hudson, under contract to the Dutch East India Trading Company, sailed from Amsterdam northward towards the pole to search for a northeasterly route to china. Against orders, Hudson changed course and sailed westward to search for the passage. After crossing the Atlantic Ocean, the ship eventually arrived at the mouth of the Hudson River. Hoping for the possibility of a passage, Hudson decided to explore this river, later named after him. The river was navigable up to the point where Albany now lies. There Hudson was forced to end the expedition. Because of breach of contract, he didn't dare return to Amsterdam and so sailed to England where other adventures followed. The six performers are all from the Netherlands, and perform their original songs in Dutch and English.

A unique spin on our Songwriter Showcase, three talented acoustic artists team up "in the round" for an incredible evening of song. The artists are: MARC VON EM (pictured here), who recently performed with the Rob Thomas Band on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and will be touring with Rob again in the Fall. One reviewer writes: "...I can genuinely say if you haven't heard or seen him live, you are only cheating yourself." ... KATHLEEN PEMBLE, who's been featured on WFUV's New Music Mondays, and was the Winner of The New York City Song Slam. "Winning melodies in the folk-pop vein delivered with strong, supple vocals made Ms. Pemble's music compelling." - The New York Times ... TODD GIUDICE, a songwriter whose songs "sound like the chart-topping classics you've been singing half your life." Todd performs around the Hudson Valley and in popular NYC clubs, and his songs are receiving playtime on prominent radio stations in the area.
