Sunday 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm | John Scarpulla Acoustic | Taste Budd's Chocolate and Coffee Cafe 40 West Market Street Red Hook, NY See Map |
Raised in New York City, John began playing Subway stations and bars in and around Manhattan in his early twenties. His songwriting has evolved over the past 15 years from intimate walks through the blue-black city streets and bar-rooms of New York City, to autumn brown country roads paved with gratitude. He is currently touring with Tom Wadsworth, a seasoned singer songwriter from Upstate New York. John's sound has been described by Jazz Bassist Joe Fonda as "true lyrical poetry that is rooted in the blues and has a deep groove." The music is seemless and moves efortlessly between incindiary testimonials of love and redemption and mournful ballads of regret and perserverance. John plays strictly acoustic music. | ||

Among other achievements Felix and his band were featured for a full hour on NPR's nationally syndicated Program BLUES STAGE, hosted by the late great Ruth Brown.
