The Virginia Wolves  ... is a Band performing Acoustic, Folk/Traditional, and Rock (classic) music.

Kelly McNally of The Virginia Wolves is fashioning tunes that are enormously relevant in these troubled times. Her recently released Curse of the Kill (My Own Label Records, 2009) consists of 13 lyrical compositions in the “bring them home” millieu, presented through McNally’s self-proclaimed “Organic Rock.” Implementing guitar, piano, tambourine and vox, McNally is joined by Adele Schulz (vocal harmonies, french horn, trumpet & tambourine) Alan Macaluso (electric guitar, pedal steel) Chris Macchia (bass) and Terry Hampton (drums, tree bells, chimes). Musically, the album is rootsy and even-tempered, hailing back to the bohemian vibe of the ‘60s. Consistently chilled, the record’s folksy harmonies and slow-groove is further refined by McNally’s soulful, buttery-smooth vocals. Though seemingly relaxed on the surface, a closer lyrical listen will reveal a themed body of work that is deeply significant and emotionally charged. While spreading a powerful message of peace. A music therapist, McNally also runs an all-green enterprise, Flower Power Clean. “I only support local businesses,” says McNally. “All our products are organic, non-toxic, and 100% Earth conscious. Her environmentally-cognizant philosophy carries over to her album artwork—the lightweight packaging is made entirely from recycled paper. My Own Label Records, McNally’s independent record label showcases local artists of the Hudson Valley to promote self-sustainable awareness in our own backyard. Now that Curse of the Kill is completed, McNally plans to send as many copies as she can to the troops. “That was our whole goal,” she says. “I want to be hopeful and positive, to acknowledge huge gratitude to the troops and their families. I’d love to play for the troops anywhere, let them know that this generation is appreciative. (written by Sharon Nichols) Visit www.thevirginiawolves.com
