Walker's EVERYBODY WANTS A PIECE (his 24th solo album) was the Grammy-nominated Contemporary Blues Album of the Year (2017).

http://www.joelouiswalker.com/

Joe Louis Walker is a walking encyclopedia of blues history, and blues vocal and guitar styles. Born in San Francisco on Christmas Day 1949, he is now based in Westchester, NY. As he grew up, he found himself on stage with tutors John Lee Hooker, Thelonius Monk, The Soul Stirrers, Steve Miller and Jimi Hendrix.

NPR Music has called Walker “a legendary boundary-pushing icon of modern blues,” and has been referred to within the blues world as a living legend.

“I’d really like to inspire younger musicians to carry on the legacy of blues/roots music. But play, and do it your way. Don’t be afraid to mix it up. There’s no right, or wrong way. Just the way you wanna express yourself. And above all, ENJOY YOURSELF.” - Joe Louis Walker

We can now safely say we've performed at this joint in both the 20th & 21st century. I believe "off the hook" will not even come close to explaining what this night is going to be like. Make plans now, get there early, and get ready for a Rock Show that will bring back what we did the last time we were there, as well as new songs & tributes as we've grown a bit in the last 26 years of performing. INNERrOUTe CD Release performance heralding their 3rd CD “Wing Factory"

INNERrOUTe WAS BORN in drummer Michael D'Agostino's West Milford NJ studio. They were all amazed at the results and agreed that the music we created/heard/experienced together was uniquely alive, freeing and healing. The band got on so well that they agreed to make a trial recording in Michael's studio, and here they are 3 CDs later..

THEIR CREATIVE PROCESS begins differently every time, with one of them starting to play whatever pops into his ears. Then the reaction to those first ideas begins & where it goes no one knows. They can emerge from dark valleys into beautiful light rain & rays of musical sunshine, laughing all the way....emerging in a healthier state, greatly moved by the spirit which has just passed through them.

[María Grand] ...an excellent, exploratory saxophonist you should all know....Grand's pieces are full of wild twists, turns and time signatures, yet hang together in a compelling way. This is stuff for adventurous listeners." - innerviews.org

"As an improviser, the Swiss-Argentine Ms. Grand is both measured and frank, often venturing into gentle provocation." -The New York Times

María Grand uses the saxophone, her voice, and a gong, which she plays over a soundtrack created specifically for this version of the piece, to express her vision of the stages of Persephone's life.

Maria Grand Presents: HerStory/Persephone at L'Abri, Geneva: https://youtu.be/uZJzEIz4yxo

HerStory / Persephone

The story of a life cycle, told through the abstraction of a Greek myth. The four major stages of a woman's existence - maiden, mother, queen, crone - are lived and relived in a struggle to gain self-knowledge.
