Slam Allen perfected his already refined entertainer persona in James Cotton's Blues Band, with which he toured for nine years, first as rhythm guitarist, then as lead guitarist and eventually bandleader. Slam has an uncanny ability to hook an audience, a good-time vibe, ever smiling, upbeat and energetic.

A seasoned and internationally recognized touring veteran, Slam Allen is more than a singer, songwriter, and guitar player. He has connected with his audiences like the entertainers of a bygone era - Otis Redding, B.B., Albert, and Freddie King, with some Wilson Picket, James Brown, Sly Stone and a little George Benson and Jimi Hendrix thrown in to the experience.
