Pianist/keyboardist available for jazz jam or gig$
For jazz musicians who would like to get together and jam, I'm looking to have fun, improvise, learn, and collaborate. Please no beginners - you should know most of the jazz standards and be able to sight-read charts. Money is secondary, but of course is always OK!
For studio work, I can cover pretty much everything including: polyrhythms, odd meters, and extremely demanding keyboard charts. I am classically trained, have perfect pitch, know what it means to play in the pocket, and can play softly and sensitively for ballads.
For gigs, I can learn new tunes and get up to speed very quickly. To make it worth my while, I'd like to join with a working band that plays out at least once per week. Most styles are welcome (rock, folk, etc) but I really don't want to do a lot of country, 50s, techno, rap, or metal. And lastly, sound levels shouldn't be in excess - I agree that guitars need to have a certain tonal quality, but I also value my hearing. Another option is duo work with a vocalist who can get gigs.
