Dave Davies of The Kinks

Paramount Hudson Valley Theater

Peekskill, NY   See Map
Admission Prices: $37.50, $45, $60

Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Dave Davies is the pioneering rock guitarist who singlehandedly changed rock-n-roll with his unique writing style. Davies, who was the lead guitarist and co-founder of the legendary group the Kinks, created the first heavy metal guitar tone and riff. This revolutionary guitar sound propelled the Kinks into stardom with the global smash hits “You Really Got Me” and “All Day and All of the Night,” followed by numerous other classics over the next decades.

Davies further shaped the sound of the Kinks with his singing and guitar on songs such as “Come on Now” and the anthem “I’m Not Like Everybody Else.” Mainstream success continued with the hit Kinks Albums Low Budget and State of Confusion, as they re-attained the commercial success they previously had in America in the mid-60s.

Katherine Rondeau
Singer-Songwriter, Folk/Traditional, and Americana
Hootenanny Cafe Mini Concerts
Online: www.wtbq.com or 93.5FM, NY   See Map
“With her powerfully rich voice to lead the way, Katherine delivers a rootsy performance that harkens back to the best of the Folk Revival with a modern style.” Ron Olesko, WFDU-FM

Katherine Rondeau is a full-throttle folk singer-songwriter! After bursting onto the Philly folk scene in 2015, she was quickly recognized for her rich, bold voice and engaging style. She has since claimed her place at venues throughout the region including Godfrey Daniels, World Cafe Live, the Hurdy Gurdy Folk Club, and as a three-time Philly Folk Festival performer (2015-17).

And the music? Imagine yourself in the hills of Appalachia – hear that strong, lyrical wail calling down from the mountain, and the steel ring of the guitar strings? That’s the rootsy folk sound of Katherine Rondeau. Her 2016 release New Hope Chateau was a Folk DJ chart favorite. The Midwest Record wrote: Her compelling story songs take on a myriad of themes, from love lost and love preserved to robust political anthems.
