Cover bands are everywhere. The Hudson Valley bursts with tribute bands, hard rock cover bands, funk cover bands, acoustic duos and piano men. Why throw our hat into that over-saturated ring? Because we want to do it harder. Beyond just playing songs you know and love, Impressing Dennis takes rock and pop classics and injects them with a raw, new energy, turning each show into an experience. Each set list is more eclectic than the one before it, and as you dance and sing your way from Gloria Gaynor to My Chemical Romance to Lady Gaga, you can't help but think, "Wow, this has got to be the most talented cover band I've ever seen! And good looking!" By the end of the show you are so overwhelmed with the need to see the band again that you decide you need to book them, immediately! But you have no events coming up that would require a band. Would they come play for you and only you in your home? Probably not. So you turn and propose to the man next to you, and he, also swept up in the heat of the moment, says "Yes! A thousand times yes!" and the two of you set a date for your wedding on the spot. You ask the band when they're free and they say "Tomorrow" and in 24 hours time you are on the dance floor again, singing and swaying to all of your favorites and maybe some songs you were never really that into but when Impressing Dennis does them you think, "Well that's a way cooler version." At the end of the night as you and your new husband pile into the limousine that will take you to your honeymoon suite you thank the band one last time, deliriously happy. Years pass by, he grows a goatee and a little paunch and takes a job as a fourth grade teacher in a great school district in New Mexico, where you've finally found a viable market for your pottery, enabling you to work from home. You have three beautiful children - two girls and a boy - who each grow to be happy and healthy and have families of their own. At your fiftieth anniversary party (a surprise thrown by your children, mostly put together by your middle daughter - she was always the thoughtful one), surrounded by friends and family, someone asks you both what the secret is to a long and happy marriage. You chuckle together with warm and knowing glances before you sigh and say, "Well, it all started with Impressing Dennis." Laughter. Applause. A kiss. And you hear the sound of amplifiers being turned on. And there on the stage...
