In the era when Nirvana killed the hopes and dreams of big hair metal, a small classic rock cover band emerged from the onion fields of a quaint and charming town in Orange County, NY. What started as jamming in a barn off the side of Pulaski Highway, eventually propelled Tangent into full fledged Local Rock God Status. Performing in local bars, at weddings, & even bar-mitzvahs (just kidding!) the band quickly acquired a mass following. The band's original members consisted of Michael Gailie (vocals), Vic Kleiner (lead guitar), Ed Lepski (bass guitar), Terry McDonough (Keyboard), and Peter Wanczyk (drums). As the cliche goes, people come & people go. The band proudly welcomed the talents of Michael Lerose (lead guitar) and Lenny Nayda (drums). Mr. Lerose has moved on but like all Tangent Emeritus, will always be a part of the brotherhood and family that is Tangent. We currently, and hopefully for many years to come, enjoy the talents of Sal Decicco (lead guitar) and Gary Rispoli (bass). Tangent has been a staple at local gigs including the Florida Family Fun Fest, Middletown Festival Square and of course Penning's Farm Market Barn Parties. They continue to tour across the region and have an ever growing fan base, which is what keeps the band going. They love what they do and they rock in ways that is difficult for the human mind to comprehend. The sound of the combined members make audiences SWEAR a radio is on or a recording is playing, due to the dead-on nature of their performances. Most important is the song selection. You can hear Billy Joel and Alice and Chains in the same set. Mixing in your favorite band's popular songs and those songs on the fringe, Tangent brings you back to that point in time, or seminal event or milestone of life, that are as strong as an aroma or compelling as a memory. This band is influenced by all genre's and every type of music. They'll knock out a concert performance with classics such as Aqualung by Jethro Tull, The Grand Illusion by Styx, Funeral for a Friend / Love Lies Bleeding from Elton or My Old School by Steely Dan. In seconds, they've transformed to the dance band you always want at your party with Saw Her Standing There, Billie Jean, Brown Sugar & Burnin' Love. We have the running joke that............ We are Tangent..and You're Not- but in all seriousness - we're nothing without the greatest fans in the area. Thank you so much for your decades of support.
